Gossip has always been a huge phenomenon and is widely known for its destructive potential and effects yet could easily draw anyone in. For some it's an attitude, for some it's a mere hobby and for some it's a lifestyle.

Amazingly enough, the media has proved its effectiveness in strengthening youth's motives to gossip. The vast amount of gossiping within the media is about celebrities particularly in newspapers and magazines. Indirectly, most of its representations position youth to think of gossip as a "cool" thing to do and follow.

Through the extensive use of representations of gossip in the media, it fills in the gaps of what the youth should think about themselves, e.g. feeling superior. As a result, the youth are tempted into using that destructive weapon in order to feel superior which...
