Conflict is something many people are faced with on a daily basis. We see conflict on the streets, at the office, at home, on the news. The fact is it exists everywhere.

Resolving conflict is up to each individual to change there ways of thinking. The most important thing to do is to hold your pride low. In most cases, conflict occurs because people don't think with there heads, they think with there pride. One must be prepared to understand others. Often we are so consumed with our own thoughts and feelings, we perceive our self as totally right and others as totally wrong unleashing our anger in appropriately, resulting in conflict. One should always be open minded to the solution.

Understanding another person's position is a great block to handling conflict constructively. One can be extremely hypocritical only seeing the vicious acts of others while being blinded from ones own acts. This can be described as "What is okay for me to do, is not acceptable for you to do." This conflict generally occurs in relationships. But in the case of conflict in relationships, lack of it is not good. Lack of conflict in a relationship indicates that one person is being subdued or the relationship is very cold and distant.

It is very important for you to think before you act because all your actions have consequences. If one was to make a decision in a state of fury, the decision could lead to conflict, as it was illustrated in the play "An Inspector Calls." This play showed the family making a decision that ultimately led to a girl's death.

Making compromise will help resolve conflict because in some cases, one party maybe fighting for a less important cause than the other, and therefore should compromise.

No matter where or how conflict occurs, it will always occur. But the important thing is to always make an effort to prevent it when possible
