Summary: The essay discusses the three men who were mainly responsible for the founding of singapore and who should take the credit for founding modern singapore.
I feel that Raffles should not be given sole credit for the founding of Singapore, but to be given sole credit for formulating the idea of Singapore being a British port in the Malay Archipelago. Raffles should also be given credit for overseeing the founding of modern Singapore.

I shall start off with the definition of a founder. According to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition, a founder is one who establishes something or formulates the basis for something. In this case, we are discussing about the people who formulated the basis of modern Singapore.
