Summary: Personal analyis of the poem is "House Guest" by Elizabeth Bishop
My initial reaction to "House Guest" written by Elizabeth Bishop was not surprising nor interesting, but very boring and typical. The poem was very typical and alike any story or poem I have read recently. The poem did not represent anything meaningful to me because there was nothing in the poem that symbolized life or what life really is. The poem was just a typical story about a seamstress who does not know what to do with her life and is only happy with money, food, and clothes. The seamstress did not deal with any real life issues such as mortgage, surviving by herself, or even feeding herself. The family took care of all those necessities in life and the seamstress did not have to worry about it.
