Summary: The power of imaginative journeys shown in the Coleridges poem "This Lime Tree Bower My Prison" and other texts
Imaginative journeys can be studied from numerous angles. The four texts which have been analysed make varying as well as common assertions regarding the topic. Imaginative journeys embodied in a text and its associated ideas challenge and alter the existing ideas of a responder. This can be seen through texts such as Samuel Taylor Coleridge's (STC) poetic piece This Lime Tree Bower My Prison, Big Fish, a film directed by Tim Burton, the cover of The Ivory Trail, by Victor Kelleher and The Epic of Gilgamesh an ancient epic originally written on clay tablets. Different types of relationships exist amongst these texts. Big Fish and The Ivory Trail are both visual texts with differing concepts. However both texts are successful in challenging thought and triggering an imaginative journey in the mind of the responder.
