Compare and Contrast the Three Cinderellas

Summary: Three versions of the story "Cinderella" are compared and contrasted. These include Ye Xian, the Chinese Cinderella; Peach Blossom, the Korean Cinderella; and Charles Perrault's Cinderella, with whom most readers are familiar. While some differences exist between the stories, all three Cinderellas have stepmothers who treat them with meanness, all attend a social gathering at which they all leave their shoes in haste, and all marry important people at the end of their stories.
Compare and contrast the three Cinderellas

The three Cinderellas are, Ye Xian, the Chinese Cinderella, peach Blossom, the Korean Cinderella and Cinderella or the little glass slipper by Charles Perrault.

The Chinese Cinderella is the story of Ye Xian a girl who lives in the tang dynasty of china. Her father has two wives. Her stepmother does not treat her well and she has other difficulties. The Korean Cinderella tells the story of a young girl named pear blossom.

In all three of the stories, there is a young girl with no mother. Their fathers marry again in each case a woman who is mean to Cinderella and kind to there own daughters. Even though in Perrault's Cinderella, the stepsisters are forgiven in the end. All the Cinderellas are good and kind hearted while the stepsisters are mean.
