Summary: The themes of joy of love, sexual desire and the pain of love in three poems: "Sonnet 18" by William Shakespeare, "To His Coy Mistress" by Andrew Marvell," and "The Lost Love" by William Windsworth.
Love poetry dating back to the 16th century written by both male and female has shown us different forms of how a poet expresses his or her emotion to their loved ones. In this essay I will be discussing my analysis of three poems, firstly Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare, secondly To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell and thirdly The Lost Love by William Windsworth. The themes to these three poems range from the Joys of Love, Sexual Desire and Pain of Love.

One of the poems I will be focusing on for the Joy of Love is Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare. William Shakespeare was a poetry writer dating back to the 16th century. This poem is a Sonnet which means it consists of 14 lines; these lines are divided into three quatrains in a group of four lines. It also has a very complex rhyming scheme of Rhyming...
