The tale of Beowulf revolves around a monster, Grendal, and a young man, Beowulf. Beowulf's goal is to slay the wicked monster. When Beowulf finally slays Grendal he was considered a great hero. It took courage, bravery, brains, perseverance, and you need to be strong... physically and mentally. And Beowulf is certainly all of them.
"My sword? Oh I left it in the sun somewhere. I need no sword." This quote demonstrates that Beowulf has brains and is definitely brave and courageous. It shows he has brains because you can tell he has a plan by the tone or the way it is used in context. It is obvious that he is brave and courageous because it would take a lot of guts to even attempt to slay a monster that he knows has killed many men. I think this is one of the many quotes that supports my thesis statement.
Beowulf is very strong and shows perseverance. One of the quotes " His eyes being poor, he determined not only to see not just as well as other people but better than most," shows that he has perseverance and is strong mentally. It shows these adjectives when he says .".. he determined not just to see as well but better..."
"Beowulf was the rare kind of person that could make strengths of his own weaknesses." this quote shows that he is strong physically because he has many strengths, and not to many weaknesses.
These and many other quotes support the opinion that Beowulf is very strong mentally and physically, shows perseverance, bravery, very courageous, and extremely smart.
