If I had children and had to decide whether to send them to school or whether to teach them at home, the decision would certainly be not an easy one. All parents want their children to receive the best education possible. If you think, however, of the fact that there are sometimes up to 30 pupils in a form, it goes without saying that pupils cannot learn at their own pace. School doesn't respect children's need to learn differently. It is exactly dictated what you have to learn and when you have to learn it. Considering safety one must bear in mind that children at school may be exposed to drugs, guns, bombs and many other things. Peer pressure shouldn't be underestimated. Another point in favour of home schooling is that it makes you much more flexible when it comes to planning your time. Holidays and trips can be planned at the family's convenience. The high prices which have to be paid at the peak season could be avoided.

However, if I think of my own school-days I must say that I wouldn't like to miss them. I think that children who are kept at home all the time will lack the skills to interact with their peers. I believe it is important to meet people who think differently and have different religious views. Working well in a team and solving problems within a group are skills which are very important for later life. Moreover, I think that most parents are not qualified enough to teach all the subjects, and employing teachers for home schooling would be too expensive.

All in all, I would prefer normal schools to home schooling.
