The United States in 20th Century Wars

Summary: A sypnosis of U.S. involvement in World War I, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Political, economic, and social reasons lead to U.S. involvement in these wars.
The United States has involved itself in armed conflicts throughout history. Political, economic, and social reasons usually lead to these involvements. Included among these were World War I, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

There were many factors that lead to World War I; the Pan-German movement, the Pan-Slavic movement, imperialism, territorial gains, secret alliances, the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, etc. and the list goes on. I think that Wilson was pressured to enter the war because of social reasons. At first, the US remained neutral and stayed out of it because they didn't want to get involved in any overseas conflicts. But despite the US's policy of neutrality, the US couldn't remain untouched by the war. With German U-boats sinking American merchant ships and passenger liners, Americans were getting outraged.
