Sir Wilfred Laurier declared that the twentieth century belongs to Canada. I completely agree because Canada is a land of freedom, hope and opportunity. Canada suffered many hardships during her past but we have only grown and become stronger. Millions of people have come to Canada seeking a new and better life and some have found the dream they were searching for - Canada. Although Canada has been overwhelmed with the Dieppe raid, the conscription crisis and the great depression, we have all come together as one and have only grown to prove that Canada is the greatest place in the world.

One of the hardships that Canada faced and overcame was the Dieppe raid. The Dieppe raid was a battle led by the fearless Canadians. The raid took place on August, 1942 and was one of the most costly battles that Canada has ever suffered in one day...
