It would be very unorthodox to agree with a comment such as the "charter only benefits criminals, their lawyers, minority groups and corporations." Personally I don't agree with that comment for the reason that it is bias, and it highly lacks proof. That statement is not valid for the reason that our society is not made up of only "criminals, their lawyers, minority groups and corporations." That comment lacks people such as women, children, victims of sexual abuse, immigrants and also the public service sector that benefit from the charter.

The charter of rights and freedoms, is based upon principles that are designed in a way that it can be altered to benefit whomever that chooses to challenge it. Since 1982, the charter has been altered over and over again by the government, in the interest of those considered...
