Thursday October 24th 1929, will always be remembered as the day that the world's economy just simply collapsed, spiralling the world into an economic and very long depression. However, how did the Great Depression affect Australia back affect Australia back then, and how it affected Australia today. Good afternoon/morning fellow classmates. Today I am going to be talking to you about how the Great Depression, affected Australia as a nation and how it shaped who we are as a nation. I am going to raise the points of where the Great Depression originated, how the Great Depression hurt Australia, how the Government responded to the economic crisis, how people responded to the crisis, what happened to Australia and what positive outcomes, if any, came out of the Great Depression.
