Within a decade the computer software industry has grown massive. Software ranging from media, games to application has become essential in many households. However, due to this growth, a major problem has arisen, and that is piracy. Piracy is a major issue to both software developers and consumer. It should be contained to a minimal level or better yet, eliminated, because it is a form of theft.

The major cause of piracy is that some consumers do not wish to pay the full retail price for the software. First the consumer may feel paying retail price is not reasonable if it is considerably high.
