Tescos, Communicate differently depending on which size or type of department of the store there in.

Tescos, Watton for example is a small supermarket, where they either mainly talk to each other in person or talk via the telephone to customer service and then by a tanoid. Managers get information every week from head office to pass to staff via meetings or personal contact.

In larger stores meetings and presentations are held to give information to different types of staff. Written communication is also used, such as: memos, letters, financial documents, advertisements and notices.

Tescos use a lot of Information Technology to communicate with one and another, that's why it's probably no surprise that Tesco has been extremely quick to embrace IT. For example, Tescos passion for new technology has been key to Tescos becoming the world's biggest e-grocer in a really short period of time.

But technology touches every other part of Tescos business too. Tescos has over 200 internal systems, links to hundreds of suppliers, communication across 700 sites, and more than 5000 office-based IT users to support.

Tescos doesn't just view technology as hardware and software. It's about creating services and solutions that help make things better for their customers and their colleagues. Simply put, that Tescos is a business function with technical skills. Our 700-strong team understands the commercial impact of their work and uses technology accordingly. This has enabled their online grocery business, Tesco.com to flourish, just as it will for B2B e-commerce and class-leading supply chain systems. The UK-based IT team mostly covers the domestic market, but with an eye to their global business as Tescos work even more closely with our international colleagues - some of Tescos people are seconded abroad. So IT communication is more efficient and less expensive to use.

All of the ways Tescos communicate is effective in one way or another, and without good communication Tescos would simply not be able to run. As the Tescos supermarket chain is the leading supermarket chain in the UK.
