Summary: "The Crucifixion" was created by Francisco de Zubaran in 1627. Zubaran was a Spanish baroque painter. He was born in Freutes de Cantos, Spain in 1598. He started his painting career since he was 15 years old in the city of Seville, Spain. The symbol of Cross became the core for Christianity

When I was visiting the Art Institution of Chicago, I walked around many exhibits. There are many interesting pictures, paintings and sculptures. Some of the items are very old. I came across one painting at the end of the hall; it was a very big painting of Jesus on a cross. I felt that the painting is very powerful and gives a lot of emotion and feeling to the viewers. I stood there for a while staring at the painting. At first, I walked closer to the painting because it looked very real and then I walked back to the end of the hall in order to see this painting clearly because the painting is very big; it looked pretty much like a sculptures. A lot of people came by the hall and everyone just stopped and stared at this painting for a long time like I did...
