Personal Exercise Programme

Summary: As I am young I have a lot more energy and am less prone to injury than older people. This is good for when I am doing my cardio work but I must make sure that with the weights I do not exert too much pressure on myself as I am not yet fully grown this could cause me damage in the future. I must make sure that I take the advice of the various instructors in the gym and follow the guidelines of how to use the weights.

Purpose/Aim of the PEP

For my personal exercise programme I am going to visit a gym and continue with my regular training. The sport I am looking at is basketball. I play basketball around four times a week. I currently train up to three times a week and play two or three times. I play for the towns under 18s and men's teams and also go training at Manchester. I am going to work on my leg and upper body strength, cardio-vascular fitness and agility.

I need strength as I am playing against adults and people bigger than myself and I have found it harder to win rebounds and muscle people out of the way, so I hope that building on my upper-body strength will help this. I want to improve my leg strength so that...
