Summary: The them of overcoming obstacles to achieve dreams is a key theme in the 1993 movie "Rudy," which was about a man's dream to play football for the University of Notre Dame.
The 1993 movie "Rudy" is a true story about how a boy named Rudy Ruettiger overcame many obstacles and criticism in his life, to eventually fulfill his dream of becoming a Notre Dame Football player. Throughout his life people told him that chasing his dream of playing football at Notre Dame would never happen, and he was wasting his time. Rudy never gave up, and to this day is the last Notre Dame Football player to be carried off the field.

Rudy's primary goal throughout the movie was to become a Notre Dame Fighting Irish football player. Rudy's goal was Specific, because he knew exactly what he wanted to accomplish.
