A science-fiction thriller portrayed in cartoon form, TITAN A.E. takes place in the distant future, after earth has been obliterated by a mysterious alien race known as the Drej. In the prologue, Earth is blown to smithereens (thus the "A.E."--"after Earth") by some blue pure-energy forms called the Drej, and mankind is forced to flee their home planet. Left without a planet, the vagabond remnants of Earth are adrift in waystations scattered across the cosmos. Their only hope is Cale, who spends his days on Tau 14, a deep space salvage colony - unaware that he possesses the secret to restoring humanity: his DNA and ring is the key to locating the Titan, a long-lost ship that can create a new home world.
