Summary: Reflects on why president Bush won the 2004 American presidential election. Written from a European (Norwegian) point of view.
November 3rd 2004. The whole world was waiting hopeful, exited, and frightened at the same time. What would be the verdict? Would it be yet another four years with conservative Bush as a president? Or would he be replaced by democrat Kerry and his less aggressive foreign policy? Some felt that Kerry, with his vague statements was no better than Bush, but most felt that anyone had to be better then George W. Bush. Europe could not understand how their brothers and sisters in the US could re-elect a man that had a lower IQ then the average American. The Middle East prayed that America now would leave their men and their oil alone. But their prayers were not answered, and the gap between Europe and the US is even wider.
