At about 1915, Alfred's Wegener, a scientist, published his theory of continental drift. He explained to the other baffled scientists that his theory was related to the Earth back then when it was a super continent named Pangea. Millions of years passed by and the super continent started splitting apart, due to major upwelling of the mantle. However, Pangea was also pulling apart from its own mass. Now, more scientists, with help of modern technology, are attempting to prove Wegener's theory and researching that the continents are still moving today, and they move about one to two centimeters a day!
