Collegiate Athletics: America's Biggest Failure

Summary: Essay on how college athletes are the downfall of American society.
Something has to be done about the continuing trend of failure in men's collegiate athletics. The fact that so many athletes fail to succeed academically after high school worries me, both as an exceptional student and as an American. I first thought that allowing student athletes to major in their sport would be a great way to educate them and reduce the number of students failing while allowing them to excel athletically and create revenue for their school. However I didn't feel that this was fair to the other students, who were gifted speakers, or talented in the fields music or art, and decided that suspending collegiate athletics all together, in order to assure the future of this great nation, was a far better approach.
