The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings by Gabriel Garcia Marquez is the story of an angel who comes to the house of Pelayo and Elisenda only to bring them grief then fortune. The angel arrives just after their baby is born and Elisenda believes that, "He must have been coming for the child, but the poor fellow is so old that the rain must have knocked him down." Little does the family know what changes are about to happen in their lives and turn their world upside-down.
