Summary: From the outset, Mayor Giuliani had a vision of change, and he knew that he could and would positively alter the way the world viewed New York City. The mayor's profound impact on the city of New York seemed all too good to be true, and something negative was bound to evolve from Giuliani's bold efforts.
On a Sunday evening, most people would find themselves sitting peacefully at home watching television with family. Unfortunately, there have been places in our world where this situation remains but a dream. Before 1994, a New York City inhabitant may have found him or herself unnerved by the mutable peacefulness of their surroundings. A stranger lurking in the shadows of their living rooms was actually a concern of average New York City citizens. Fortunately, an extraordinarily bold and courageous man would suppress the fears of New Yorkers: Rudolph Giuliani. Elected leader of one of the world's largest cities, Mayor Giuliani, during his eight years as mayor, would courageously overlook the strident accusations of his jarring critics, and champion efforts to decrease the ever-rising rate of New York City crime.
