Summary: Children should not be permitted to watch television as much as they do. The depiction of violence on television causes children to act violently; television shows promote high-risk behavior, such as drinking alcohol; and television watching adversely affects a child's physical and mental health.

Nowadays, television, TV in short, is a must have device for every household. All the variety of genre, including sports, movie, drama, music, cartoon, news and many others, elicit the interest amongst people. Despite the fact that watching TV is entertaining; does it benefit the children in our society? On average, kids today spend more than 20 hours per week watching TV, which is the time spent more than any other activities besides sleeping. Overall, watching TV promotes the children in such acts: violence, high-risk behaviour, and being unhealthy. Because of the various reasons that affect children negatively, television should not be a choice of the children's motivation.
