Feminist Symbolism in "The Ring"

Summary: The symbolism of rings, wallpaper, and who dies in the horror film "The Ring" makes a statement about feminism and oppressive male patriarchy.
Feminism is the belief that women are equal to men. The Ring is a feminist film because it shows women being independent and not staying in the "cookie cutter" image that women were portrayed as. This movie is violently feminist because in the end of the movie all of the men except for Aidan die. All of the fathers in this movie run the household. These men were bad role models and father figures.

The title The Ring symbolizes marriage and the relationship between man and woman. It also symbolizes the idea of "never ending." Never ending in the sense that the passing on of the video and its message doesn't seem to end.
