In our contemporary lives, we are constantly being exposed to visual imagery. Whether it be through television, film, or photography, visual media has become an important means of understanding the world around us. This visual bombardment of television and motion pictures has decreased the mainstream popularity of reading texts; however, the J.J. Steinfeld short story "A Room of Pure Remembrance"dispels this trend. J.J. Steinfeld utilizes descriptive writing thereby enabling the reader to imagine his work as if it were a play.
