Childhood

Osama bin Laden was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and was the son of Muhammad bin Laden, one of the countries most wealthy business man and a Syrian mother. He was the seventeenth of more than 50 children. From a young age bin Laden was pampered by servants and lived in good houses, and would have heard stories of how his father started his career as a Yemeni porter. When Osama was only 11 years old his father died in a helicopter accident in 1968, leaving Osama with a fortune of over $300 million.

Education

Osama attended school in Jedda and was encouraged to marry early, at the age of 17, to a Syrian girl and family relation. She was the first of his several wives.
