Vincent Is Supposed to Be Weak. Yet His Strength of Character Is the Key to the Story.

Being born a `faith child', Vincent was an `invalid' with genetic predispositions that made him unworthy to succeed his father's name. In the mind of his parents and all those around him, he was considered weak, as a result of the genetic flaws that was embedded in his genes. Right from the moment he was born, nurses were able to detail the very cause and date of his death. When he was a child, every fall was considered life threatening and his parents were very protective of his well being. Yet with all odds against him, Vincent was able to prove that success was not measured by one's DNA alone, which was what the society in Gattaca was expecting. With determination, courage and intelligence, Vincent was able to disguise physically as Jerome Morrow and still work intellectually.
