The Advantages of Affirmitive Action in the School System

Summary: Affirmative Action is a good governmental policy because it recognizes the abilities and talents of African-Americans and breaks down negative stereotypes.
Since the end of slavery, discrimination of African Americans continued. For these people many years of tolerance of this racism is enough. The descendants this group should be given a chance to do better than what their ancestors could have accomplished. With affirmative action, this chance becomes more realistic. Affirmative action restores the special abilities and talents African Americans and women have that was deemed to be false during the sixties era. There should be equality and diversity in education and affirmative action provides for this. So let this be a step for the female gender and minorities.

Since the sixties, universities and even high schools did not allow integration in their school system. Social norms and racism forbid integration of African Americans in white dominated schools and colleges. Affirmative Action plays a big role. Without it some of out best people in society would not benefit today...
