Torture Is Not the Answer
Torture is the act of causing extreme pain as a way of forcing someone to do or say something against his or her will. If someone knows key information of an upcoming terrorist attack and he or she refuses to talk, is it justifiable to torture this person? Knowing that many innocent lives could be at steak, it almost seems wrong not to try and obtain this hidden information, whatever the cost. Yet who is to judge when torture should or should not be enforced? There is no justifiable way to have a law that would make torture right; therefore torture should not be authorized because of several negative effects.
First of all violence is shown everyday by the media. It almost appears as if society today has become too comfortable with violence altogether. Many of us take pleasure in watching action movies...
