The contact between the Europeans and the traditional societies is odd. Some of the Europeans are for friendship and kindness, others think they should take advantage of their land and possessions. The indigenous peoples have the same mixture of views- a select few of the groups consider the Europeans visitors, and should be treated with respect, others regard them as evil, and full of greed and selfishness. They treat them like they are not intelligent, they abuse the land, and sometimes harm native animals.
