Two texts that explore inner journeys are "Cosi" written by Louis Nowra and the poem "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. In text a realisation or understanding results from the journey taken. In "Cosi" the protagonist Lewis is thrown into the alien insane asylum to direct a play consequently he is forced to change and undertake an inner journey. Nowra portrays his inner journey through dramatic technique metaphors language and contrast. In the poem the road not taken Robert frost is reflecting on life and how in life choices are presented to you and the choice you make dictates the person you become. Both take the persona from a point of incomprehension, doubt and spiritual deprivation through a stage where they are inspired or challenged until they gain insight and understanding of the world around them.
