In the Adversary system the Legal Profession includes different types of roles. These roles in the Legal Profession include judges, magistrates, and lawyers, which contain solicitors and barristers. There are others ways of settling disputes without going to court. Examples of this include the Community Justice Centres.
Judges are legally qualified people who conduct judicial proceedings in courts. Judges adjudicate in the District Courts and the Superior courts. Judges are usual promoted from the ranks of legal practitioners. They can usually be barristers as they have experience in court and with court procedure.
