Movie ratings are intended to provide moviegoers with information about a film's content and I believe these ratings are too strict. The movie rating system was created to help viewers decide if they should see a film by its content. The movie rating system has 5 levels: G, PG, 14A, 18A and R. G is for general and is appropriate for viewing by a person of any age. PG stands for parental guidance; parents should exercise discretion in permitting a child to view the film. 14A and 18A are similar - people under the age of the rating must be accompanied by an adult. R is restricted and you must be 18 years of age or older. The Ontario movie rating system shouldn't determine who sees what movie, it should be left up to the viewer.
