I'm writing this essay to show just how important seatbelts are. They are the number one safety feature on every car, it is illegal not to wear one and it can save your life. Seatbelts are overlooked repeatedly and often lead to the worst crashes. People think that it can't happen to them and they are good drivers so they don't need to wear them, but no matter how good of a driver you are, there are still bad drivers on the road. Not everyone has the same ability.

Over three million people don't wear their seatbelts. This number is outrageous and must be brought down. There is no explanation for having that many people not wearing a seatbelt. Every car made after 1980 has seatbelts, so use them. They are the most practical and simplest safety feature. Car designers can help you out by making the vehicle safe...
