It was alarming to find that in 1997, the percentage of violent crimes involving children aging twelve to seventeen exceeded 23 percent. But what are the main reasons behind the presence of a lot of young inmates in prison today? Countless studies point out that the three main causes of crime are dropping out of school at an early age without any qualifications, being brought up in a broken home and finally, experiencing abuse at early stages of life.
