There is more to the Winter Olympics than just sport competitions. 89% of people that watch the Winter Games don't know a lot about them. While some skating events were included in the 1908 and 1920 Summer Olympics, the Winter Games were accepted as a celebration like the Summer Games and given the official blessing of the IOC in 1924.
