In this paper, I plan to provide a complete discussion of empathizing with fictional feelings in the arts. There are two types of empathy that we discussed; fictional and witnessed. With witnessed empathy we respond with empathy to an emotional experience that actually occurred. Empathy does occur, but it is not in response to an emotional experience that occurred and not witnessed. Witnessed empathy deals with being present at one occurrence and witnessing that emotion, the emotion in subject is that of an actual emotion, you can respond empathically. A fictional empathic response is responding with empathy to an emotional experience that never really took place. If you were to read a book, or story, the characters in these writings show emotions, but that of emotions that are not real. These emotions never really took place.
