The power of the glowing necklaces is just an illusion. The so-called "magician" is really a scientist that uses illusions to make a person believe something that was untrue, true.

When studying the scenario on page two, we noticed patterns we have seen before. After six hours the brightness of each necklace decreased by a half. Therefore, the half-life of each necklace is six hours. This is radioactive decay or a process in which some atoms are changed into other atoms. We saw this same pattern when doing the experiment with M&M's. We started out with 100 and after each shake; the amount went down by about half. The half-life of the M&M's was one shake.
