Summary: Essay provides an analysis of J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye."
implores the life of one young man by the name of Holden Caufield. Holden lived the greater part of his life failing and constantly changing schools, on the way becoming very opinionated on the lives of others and what he considered "phoniness." What he often did not realize was how guilty he personally he was of his accusations of phoniness towards his peers. Holden Caufield despises those that exemplify his definition of "phoniness" (or his definition of having bad habits), yet he can often be seen contradicting the things he says to others and being a definition of his own disliking.
