What Playing Tennis Means to Me

Summary: This is a personal essay on why I play tennis.
Some people consider tennis a tough sport to play. Serving the ball diagonally over the net into the service box, anticipating where the ball will come, and striking the ball using both forehand and backhand into the restricted area takes a lot of practice to make it perfect. Learning all the rules, terms, and point system is the hardest part of playing tennis at the beginning. It sure isn't the easiest sport to start with. Yet once you have mastered all rules, tennis can be a vehicle for freeing obstacles in your life through its revitalization.

Nothing beats the exhilaration of playing tennis. Accomplishing a non-returnable serve right on the sideline or smashing the ball in the service box furthest away from your opponent and gaining a point demoralize your opponent: they can be completely devastating weapons, giving you the joy of reigning over the court and your...
