Is the above quote describing an improvisational show, or perhaps a roller coaster ride? The answer is neither. This is the opinion of the President of Skate Canada on international figure skating judging. When it comes to judging there has always been suspicion but everyone knows the sport is also very subjective. Recently, there has been a lot of media coverage on the corrupt world of figure skating judging and that is what is needed to rid this sport of its frustrations and unfairness. Competitions are full of bias, pre-judging and stress, all of which need to be stopped immediately.

During the 1998 Olympic Winter Games, a Canadian judge received and recorded a telephone call from a Ukrainian judge telling her how to vote for the next day's competition, even though they hadn't even skated yet...
