Albert was born on March 14, in Ulm, Germany in the year of 1879. His parents, Herman and Pauline, along with young Albert lived in Munich Germany. Traveling from place to place because his fathers business failed many times, they were not a very stable family. He ran an electronic repair shop. Soon after the business failed again Pauline and Herman moved to Milan, Italy. To finish his education Albert was left in Munich.
