"Exodus" - Julie Bertagna
Summary: General book review on "Exodus" by scottish author Julie Bertagna.
Exodus is a thrilling story of survival and how the past can change the future drastically. It is a journey, in more than one sense and has features some very strong themes, which are playing a big part in the world today.
One thing that I found quite out of the ordinary was that the book is set in the future, and refers a lot to the past. In fact the book begins in Midwinter 2099, which seems far into the distant future, but isn't really.
There are three main settings in "Exodus", `Wing'- an island that is rapidly being deluged into the fast rising sea. `The Netherworld'- a future Glasgow in ruins and `Noospace'- the new world in the sky.
`Wing' is "the high island" and for that reason many moved there, as their own islands had been flooded. Bertagna says, "Wing had all sorts of vehicles...when...
