Celine Dion is an important historical figure to Canada because she is a great musician who has a virtuous voice and creativity. To be and stay in the place that she is now, she has had to work very hard and she demonstrates that everybody can be anything they want. Social position doesn't matter.

On March 30, 1968, in Charlemagne, Montreal Quebec, Celine was born. She was the youngest of 14 children. Her parents Adhemar and Theresa were musicians. They had a small club where the whole family performed. Her mother Theresa Dion, who plays the violin, encouraged Celine to sing at the age of 5. Her first performance, which took place in the small club's piano bar, was amazing. Everybody was stupefied with her beautiful voice.
