Senators, NAFTA has been nothing but bad news for not only America's economy but also for her people. In our current economic crisis America must change her policies and bring back and crat jobs for the American people. As senators, we must first do what is best for America and pass this piece of legislation . I would like to address the following points (1) trade deficit, (2) Job loss and (3) environmental factors.

My first point - trade deficit. One problem frequently discussed in relation to this issue is America's trade deficit with its trading partners. The United States has its 4th highest deficit with Canada at $1.4 billion and 5th highest with Mexico at $1.2 billion. In addition, the way NAFTA was written clearly benefits Canada and Mexico more than it does the United States.
