Polar Ice

Summary: This is about the polar ice world. It contains information on its climate, animals, etc.
The polar ice world is full of life and natural beauty. When snow is old and cold enough, it turns into ice. Eventually, large chunks of ice depart from the continent to form icebergs. The icebergs float around and are carved by the freezing water into fvhdifferent shapes and structures. One iceberg has enjkough water in it to serve a typical family of 5 for 100,000 years!

Ironically, even though Antarctica is the coldest place on earth, it is still a desert. The continent contains thrjgk;ee-fourths of the planet's fresh water, and the continent doubles its size every winter.

The result of the magnetic field of the poles is spectacular shows of the northern lights. Although, this is only good for half of the year, because the other half of the year is lighted up by the sun. Because of the Earth's rotations, half of the year it is daylight for the North Pole, and it'guil;s dark outside for the South Pole. Every six months it rotates. Also, the North Pole is just an icy ocean, while the South Pole is a continent.

There are also different types of animals native to the polar regions. To the north are huskies, and to the south are penguins. Huskies were actually brought to the South Pole in the past to explore the Antarctic continent. With their thick fur andyfil; natural survival skills, dog teams are still the safest (as of transportation) for traveling across ice. The arctic turn will visit both poles, and double its weight each summer. The polar bear is equipped with a lot of sur. They hunt seals, and they are excellent swimmers (up to 80 miles a day). In addition the ice is very thin, so the food source is good.

Some more very interesting animals include penguins, walruses, and albatrosses. Albatrosses can go 3 yyf;iffcears flying without touching any land. Male penguins take care of the eggs, while the female penguins hunt for food, etc. All penguins look alike, even to each other, but they don't sound alike, so it is easy for the mother penguin to find the male penguin with the egg(s). Walruses have 2,000 pounds of fat. Their blubber keeps them warm even in the cold climate.

In conclusion, the North Pole and the South Pole contain different sfyhi;lpecies and natural beauty.
