Afghanistan's Economy

Summary: Essay discusses the economy of Afghanistan.
The language and religion barriers, along with growing resentment towards western powers result in a major roadblock to lasting peace between Iraq and Afghanistan and the United States and it's western allies. The language and religion differences between the Middle East and western nations causes the first barrier in the work for peace. The language and religion barriers cause many problems because the Middle East and the United States cannot connect in a meaningful way. The Middle East also has difficulty understanding the United States' culture and government. For example, in World War II, the United States was able to help rebuild Europe because the Europeans understood capitalism and the differences between language and religions were minor (Kahn 1). But unfortunately, this will not happen in the Middle East because of differences that affect the work for peace negatively. More importantly, the resentment of Western powers by the Middle East causes another major barrier in the work for lasting peace. The people of the Middle East envy the world powers, like the United States, and therefore do not trust many Westerners. The process of rebuilding would be a major undertaking in the Islamic nations because the resentment of Western powers runs deep (Kahn 1). In short, the language and religion barriers, along with Middle Eastern resentment towards Western nations cause many barriers in the lasting peace between the United Sates and the Middle East.
