Summary: Essay discusses the relationship between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. after World War II.
After World War II, both the United States and the Stalinist U.S.S.R. wished to influence the written works being created by the authors of that time period. Both wanted their authors to portray their country as the hero and their enemies as villains, but the United States only encouraged their authors and movie scriptwriters to create nationalistic works where as the Stalinist U.S.S.R. did whatever it took to rid any negative commentaries about themselves out of existence.

The United Sates and the Stalinist U.S.S.R. each had their own, unique beliefs about the best way to run a country. The United States was pro Capitalist and against Communism while the U.S.S.R. was pro Communism and against Capitalism, Fascism, and Imperialism.
